We can get offense through free agency. Maybe not this year but in a few years. Top flight goaltending isn't an easy thing to come by.

I wonder how Marty feels about this. He's definitely not gonna play after next year now.

As much as we need offense, this was THE move to make. Schneider is an outstanding goalie and now we will get the benefit of a goalie who can make the occasional big save. Wait till you see how much better our defense is going to look now. Last year we yielded just 24 shots per game. We have a much better defensive mindset than what Vancuver had last year. And Schneider played really well for Vancouver as it was. We have cap space. We have young D coming. This is an excellent transition to a new era of defense and goaltending. There's offense in free agency and we have money to spend to get it.

Im with you that we need offense, but to get a top 10 goalie in the league whos young and to get him for that much of a steal. You have to make that move
